The Can-Am Defender is built to work, and for a lot of owners winter means plowing the driveway, the shop yard or the barn lot. Putting a blade on one is simple once you know one thing: Can-Am now builds two Defenders, which it calls Gen 1 and Gen 2. Each one takes its own Denali mount. This guide shows which Denali kit and mount fit your Defender, how Denali compares with KFI and Kolpin on this machine, and how to spec it so it works the first storm.

❄ Find the Denali Plow for Your Defender
Every Denali kit ships complete with the mount for your machine.
Why Denali on a Defender
Denali is the plow line we’d put on our own Defender: a vehicle-specific mount plate that bolts to the frame, an Easy-Connect push tube that attaches and detaches in seconds, and a center-mounted design that sends impact into the sturdiest part of the machine instead of the front end. The Can-Am kit ships complete — blade, push tube and the Defender mount you pick — with free shipping to the lower 48 included in the price.

Which Denali kit fits my Defender?
Can-Am sells two Defenders and names them on its own model pages: Gen 1, the original Defender built since 2016, and Gen 2, the next-generation Defender: the HD11 from 2026 and the HD10 Gen 2 (3 Cylinder, 999cc) from 2027. Both use the same Denali Can-Am kit. The only difference is the mount you pick in the kit options.
Gen 1
Defender Gen 1
HD5 / HD8: 2016–2021

Mount: Denali MA11748 (pick it in the kit options)
72" kit from $869.99, mount and free shipping included
Gen 2

HD10 Gen 2 (3 Cylinder, 999cc): 2027 and newer

Not sure which generation you have, or running a 2026 X MR, Limited, Lone Star, PRO or 6x6, or an HD11 Limited, Lone Star or X MR? Call or text before you order and we’ll confirm the mount for your trim with Denali. A mount for the wrong generation won’t line up with the frame, so please don’t guess.

Pick your blade: Standard, Pro or Poly
The Can-Am kit comes in all three Denali blade series, 66" or 72", on the same push tube and mount, so this is purely a “how do you plow” decision.
Standard Series (steel) — the base price. A 19"-tall, single-piece 11-gauge steel blade, four full-height ribs and a 65° attack angle that rolls snow forward. Replaceable Grade 50 wear bar and adjustable skid feet. Black. Plowing a driveway a few times a winter? This is the one.

Pro Series (steel) — the curved, DOT-style blade. Same 11-gauge steel plus edge stiffeners and a stabilizer bar for when you find the frozen rut. The curve cuts wet snow and throws it farther, up and over the ridge on a long driveway. Markers included, 3-year warranty. Black, red or yellow.

Poly Series — the lightweight one. A rigid poly moldboard on a steel-reinforced frame: wet snow won’t freeze to it, it can’t rust, and the polyurethane wear bar won’t scuff pavers or leave rust marks on the garage floor. Easiest on your winch and front suspension. Markers and flap included, 3-year warranty.

What it costs. A 72" blade is $869.99 Standard, $949.99 Pro or $999.99 Poly, with the Defender mount and free shipping included. A 66" blade is $50 less in every series ($819.99, $899.99 and $949.99).
66" or 72"? Both bolt to the same push tube and mount. The Defender is a full-size machine, so most owners go 72": it covers your wheel tracks at full angle and clears a driveway in fewer passes. Pick 66" if you plow sidewalks, gates or tight spots between buildings.

We carry all three for the Defender. Here’s how they line up at today’s prices, with each system priced complete (mount, push tube or frame, and blade).

Our pick for most Defender owners is the Denali kit. One listing covers both generations, and a 72" Standard kit costs $318.98 less than a 72" KFI steel system. Pick KFI if you want KFI’s Pro-S blade or a 60" width, or Kolpin’s Conqueror if you clear big lots and want its 84" poly blade or the lower-priced power angle. Spec it right: the options that matter on a Defender
Every Denali kit lifts with your winch. If your Defender already has a front winch, use it. If not, add the Viper V3 4,500 lb winch right on the kit (+$379.99): it’s built in the same factory as Warn winches — Warn quality at an affordable price — with synthetic rope, a wireless remote and an automatic brake that holds the blade where you put it. Then add the winch mount for your machine (+$99.99). On a 2016–2026 Gen 1 Defender that’s KFI #101905; for any Gen 2 Defender and any 2027 Defender we’ll confirm the mount before it ships.
- Plow pulley fairlead (+$65 standard / +$70 wide bolt pattern) — the best $65 you’ll spend. A curved-groove roller and pulley stop the line fraying and give finer lift control. Adding the Viper V3? Choose Standard: the V3 uses the 3" × 4⅝" bolt pattern.
What the plow pulley fairlead is, and how it works. The Denali kit is a roller fairlead that swaps in for your winch fairlead during plow season, a pulley with a clevis hook and nylon strap, and 12 feet of 1/4" synthetic rope:

- Hydraulic/electric turn (+$779 dash switch / +$879 joystick) — angle the blade from the seat, a full swing in about 10 seconds, sealed-for-life Parker hydraulics. The joystick runs winch and angle from one lever. In an enclosed Defender, it means you never climb out into the wind.
- Plow markers (+$39.99) — included on Pro and Poly; add them on Standard if you plow at night or along a fence line.
- Push-tube length — leave it at Standard unless your Defender has a lift kit (2" +$60, 4" +$70) or is on tracks (Extended, +$110). The tube must sit level for the blade to scrape flat.
Example build: Gen 1 Defender HD10 (2016–2025) with no winch yet
Standard 72" kit with the MA11748 mount, the Viper V3 4,500 lb winch, the winch mount and the plow pulley fairlead (standard): $1,414.97, freight included. Already have a winch? Kit plus fairlead: $934.99.

The winter Defender setup
Defender owners who plow all winter tend to build the whole machine:
- Stay warm — an Ice Crusher cab heater for your Defender plumbs into the engine coolant, with defrost for the windshield. Kits for the 2016–2019 HD5 / HD8 / HD10 and the 2020–2025 HD5 / HD7 / HD8 / HD9 / HD10, $499.99, shipped free.
- Start it from the house — a Dirty Teeth Racing remote start for your Defender lets you fire it up from the kitchen, so the engine is warm before you plow (and so is the cab, if you run a heater). Plug-and-play kits for the 2016–2026 Gen 1 Defender (not Gen 2): 1-way key fob (HD8 / HD10, from $383.99), 2-way ($520.99) and phone-app versions. Email info@utvpartsandaccessories.com with your year and model and we’ll confirm the fit with Dirty Teeth Racing before it ships.
- Close it in — Defender cab enclosures (from $780.95) and Defender MAX cab enclosures. A heater only keeps you warm if the cab holds the heat.

FAQ
Does the kit include the mount for my Defender?
Yes, with hardware. Pick it in the kit options: Denali MA11748 for any Gen 1 Defender (every 2016–2025 Defender and MAX, plus the 2026–2027 HD7 / HD9 / HD10), or Denali MA11744 for any Gen 2 Defender (the HD11 from 2026 and the HD10 Gen 2 (3 Cylinder, 999cc) from 2027).
Is my Defender Gen 1 or Gen 2?
Check the HD number on your machine. Gen 1 is the HD5 and HD8 (2016–2021), the HD7 and HD9 (2022–2027) and the HD10 (2 Cylinder, 976cc; 2016–2027). Gen 2 is the HD11 (2026 and newer) and the HD10 Gen 2 (3 Cylinder, 999cc; 2027 and newer). Both include MAX (crew) models. A 2027 HD10 can be either one, so if that’s yours, call or text us your year, model and VIN and we’ll confirm it before you order.
Which plow mount fits the 2027 Defender HD10?
For 2027 Can-Am sells two HD10s. The Gen 1 HD10 (2 Cylinder, 976cc), the same machine as the 2016–2026 Defender, takes Denali MA11748. The Gen 2 HD10 (3 Cylinder, 999cc) is part of Can-Am’s next-generation lineup with the HD11 and takes the same mount, Denali MA11744.
Do I need a winch to run a plow on a Defender?
A winch is the recommended lift — it raises and lowers the blade from your seat and doubles as recovery gear. If your Defender doesn’t have one, add the Viper V3 4,500 lb winch and the winch mount right on the kit. Pair it with a plow pulley fairlead to lift higher and protect your rope.
Can I take the plow off in the summer?
That’s the point of Easy-Connect. Unhook the push tube from the mount, release the winch line, and the blade and push tube roll away. The mount plate stays on the Defender year-round.
Will it fit a Defender with a lift kit or tracks?
Yes — choose the matching push-tube length in the kit options (2" lift, 4" lift, or Extended for tracks).
Is shipping free?
Yes — most of what we sell ships free to the lower 48 states. Orders under $150 have a flat $14.99 shipping fee. Alaska and Canada shipments incur additional freight charges, and international shipping is available — we quote it individually so you get the best rate. Questions?
