"How much is a plow for my side-by-side?" is the question we answer most from October to January, and the honest answer is that the blade is only about two-thirds of it. A UTV plow setup is three purchases — the plow system, the winch that lifts it, and a short list of add-ons that make it work well — plus shipping, which on a 120-to-210-lb kit is not a rounding error. Here's the whole bill, with our current prices, so nothing surprises you at checkout or in the first storm.

The short answer
| Setup | What's in it | All-in (lower 48) |
|---|---|---|
| Already own a winch | Denali Standard 72" complete kit + plow-pulley fairlead | ≈ $915 |
| Budget, from scratch | Denali Standard 72" + fairlead + markers + Viper Midnight 4,500-lb winch kit + winch mount plate | ≈ $1,236 |
| The one we'd build | Denali Pro 72" + fairlead + Viper V3 4,500-lb winch + mount plate | ≈ $1,466 |
| Never leave the seat | Denali Poly 72" + Hydro-Turn hydraulic angle + fairlead + Viper V3 + mount plate | ≈ $2,295 |
Denali kit prices include shipping to the lower 48; winches and add-ons ship free on any order over $150. A few machines’ kits run $40 more because of the mount they use. Prices are our listings at the time of writing — the product page is always current.
1. The plow system: $800 to $1,331
A "complete" UTV plow system is three parts: the blade, the push tube (the frame that carries the blade and gives you angle and lift), and the vehicle-specific mount that bolts to your machine. Buy a blade on its own and you still cannot plow anything, so always price the full system:
- Denali — sold as one kit with the mount for your machine included: Standard 72" $849.99, Pro $929.99, Poly $979.99; 66" blades are $50 less; a few machines’ kits are $40 more because of the mount they use. Freight to the lower 48 is in the price. Denali plows
- KFI — sold as a configurator: mount (most UTVs $184.99–$204.99, Polaris Ranger $174.99) + UTV Pro 2.0 push tube ($308.99) + blade (Pro-S steel 60" $517.99 up to 72" $674.99; Pro-Poly 72" $739.99; configurator blade prices include freight to the lower 48). A 72" steel Ranger system comes to about $1,159; a 60" build is about $1,002. KFI plows
- Kolpin — configurator: Front-Connect mount ($153.99) + push frame ($571.99) + blade (steel 72" $461.99, poly 72" $604.99). About $1,188 for 72" steel, $1,331 in poly. Kolpin plows
- Eagle — complete 72" systems $1,215.95–$1,226.95, blade + V push tube + 1/4" steel mount in one box. Eagle plows

2. The lift: your winch, $190 to $492 (plus a mount plate)
This is the line item that gets forgotten. Every UTV plow system we sell raises and lowers the blade with the machine's front winch — there is no manual lift for a UTV in any of these lines (Kolpin's Storm Chaser manual lift is ATV-only). If your machine didn't come with a winch, add one:
- Viper V3 4,500-lb — $379.99 (6,000-lb +$25). Our top choice: Warn quality at an affordable price. It's the winch we put on our own plow machines.
- Viper Midnight 4,500-lb kit — $189.99. The budget pick: it handles plow duty, but it's not ideal for long-term towing.
- KFI A2500 / 3,000-lb — $229.99 / $272.99; KFI 4,500-lb U45-R2 $376.99 (wide $388.99); AS-50 $491.99.
- Kolpin 3,500/4,500-lb kit — from $329.99 ($399.99–$469.99 configured).
Then the winch mount plate for your machine: Viper plates run about $91, KFI mostly $79.95, Kolpin $109.99, Eagle $95.99. Size the winch for plow duty, not trail duty: our winch size guide uses a rated line pull of at least twice the machine's loaded weight, which for any UTV running a plow means 3,500 lb and up. Plowing cycles a winch more in one storm than trail riders use in a year.
3. The add-ons that actually matter: $65 to $150
You can plow without any of these. Most people who skip them buy them in January.
- Plow-pulley fairlead — Denali +$65 (+$70 wide); KFI roller +$49.99/$59.99 or synthetic Quick Pulley +$62.99; Kolpin snatch-block pulley $29.99. It lifts the blade higher and roughly doubles rope life in plow duty. Do not skip this one.

The Denali kit is a roller fairlead that swaps in for your winch fairlead during plow season, a pulley with a clevis hook and nylon strap, and 12 feet of 1/4" synthetic rope. Here’s how it’s rigged:

The rope runs from the winch through the roller fairlead, down to the pulley on the push tube, and back up to the strap on the bumper. That steeper angle puts less stress on the rope and more of the winch’s pull into lifting the blade — which is why we say don’t skip it.
- Blade markers — free on Denali Pro and Poly kits, +$39.99 on Standard; KFI $10.99–$28.99; Kolpin $19.99; included with Eagle. You'll want them the first time you plow in the dark.
- Winch strap — KFI's is $32.99, and their own line says it best: a $33 strap sacrifices itself instead of a $400 winch.
- Rubber flap / deflector — included on Denali Pro and Poly; Denali $89.99–$99.99, Kolpin $48.99, Eagle $49.99–$55.99 otherwise. Keeps the spray off the windshield.
4. The upgrades (optional): $583 to $1,189
- Power angle — angle the blade from the seat. Kolpin Power Angle Kit $582.99; Denali Hydro-Turn +$779 with the dash switch or +$879 with the joystick (hydraulic, full turn in about ten seconds); KFI ACT203 actuator package $1,188.99; Eagle Hydraulic Motion Pac $1,099.99.
- Lifted or tracked machine — Denali push-tube 2" lift +$60, 4" +$70, track length +$110; KFI track extension $105.99; Kolpin $197.99–$263.99.
- A second machine — you only need another mount, not another plow: Denali $149.99–$169.99, KFI $98.99–$174.99, Kolpin $153.99, Eagle $193.99.
5. Shipping: $0 in most cases
Snow plows are heavy, and freight surprises are the #1 complaint we hear about buying them online. Here the rule is simple: Denali kits include freight to the lower 48 in the price, and everything else on the site ships free on orders over $150 (orders under $150 pay a flat $14.99). Alaska, Canada and international orders are quoted individually. Kolpin blades and push frames ship as separate boxes, so their freight is figured on the whole kit — the checkout total is still the total.
Worked example: a Polaris Ranger, no winch, from zero
| Item | Budget build | The one we'd build |
|---|---|---|
| Plow system (72", mount included) | Denali Standard — $849.99 | Denali Pro — $929.99 |
| Plow-pulley fairlead | +$65.00 | +$65.00 |
| Winch | Viper Midnight 4,500 — $189.99 | Viper V3 4,500 — $379.99 |
| Winch mount plate | ≈ $91 | ≈ $91 |
| Markers | +$39.99 | included |
| Shipping (lower 48) | $0 | $0 |
| Total | ≈ $1,236 | ≈ $1,466 |
Add the Hydro-Turn (+$779) to the second column and you're at roughly $2,245 for a setup you never get out of the seat to run. Already have a winch? Subtract about $280 (budget) or $470 (V3) from either column.
Where people overspend, and where they underspend
Overspend: buying a poly blade "because it's better" for a gravel drive it will ride over in three storms, or paying for power angle on a straight driveway you plow in one pass each direction. Underspend: a 2,500-lb winch on a 1,500-lb machine, no fairlead and no markers. The first list costs you money once. The second list costs you a storm every time something lets go.
FAQ
Do I need a winch to run a plow? A winch is the recommended lift — it raises and lowers the blade from your seat and doubles as recovery gear. Pair it with a plow pulley fairlead to lift higher and protect your cable. For hands-free angling, add the hydraulic turn kit.
Does the kit include the mount for my machine? Denali and Eagle kits ship with the vehicle-specific mount; on KFI and Kolpin you choose the mount for your machine as the first step of the configurator, then add the push tube and blade. Confirm your model and year on the kit page.
What size plow do I need? Most UTV owners run a 72" blade so it clears the tire track when angled. Step down to 66" for narrow machines or tight areas.
Is a poly plow blade better than steel? Poly sheds snow better, won't rust or corrode from salt, and runs quieter. Steel blades are proven and tough.
Is shipping free? Yes — most of what we sell ships free to the lower 48 states. Orders under $150 have a flat $14.99 shipping fee. Alaska and Canada shipments incur additional freight charges, and international shipping is available — we quote it individually so you get the best rate.
