Denali vs KFI vs Kolpin vs Eagle: Which UTV Snow Plow Should You Buy? (2026)

Posted by UTV Parts & Accessories on Oct 4th 2026

We sell all four of the UTV plow lines people argue about on the forums — Denali, KFI, Kolpin and Eagle — so we don't have a horse in this race beyond wanting you to buy the one you'll still be happy with in February. We also plow Minnesota snow with this same equipment. This is the comparison we give over the phone every fall, written down: what each system actually is, where each one wins, and what they all have in common that the spec sheets skip.

Short on time? Use the Year → Make → Model plow finders to see which brands make a mount for your machine, or call 800-596-0785 and we'll spec it with you.

The 60-second version

  • Denali — the delivered-price kit. Complete system (blade + Easy-Connect push tube + vehicle-specific mount) from $849.99 with free shipping included, a 3-year warranty on the Pro and Poly blades, and the widest list of machines we have mounts for. Our default recommendation for most UTV owners.
  • KFI — the American-made hardware brand. Mounts and push tubes built in the USA since 1998, bolted to factory frame holes, sold as a build-your-own system from about $1,002 (60") to $1,159 (72" steel) on a Polaris Ranger. Best if you want US-made steel, a big ATV catalog, or the 80" Pro-V.
  • Kolpin — the tool-less, fast-off system. Conqueror Front-Connect hooks up without tools, Kolpin states a sub-30-minute install, and its power-angle kit is the cheapest of the four at $582.99. Complete 72" steel system about $1,188.
  • Eagle — the heavy one. Straight steel blade on a 1/4"-steel mount, made in Jackson, Minnesota. Complete 72" systems $1,215.95–$1,226.95. Best if you'd rather carry weight than finesse.

What every one of them needs: a winch. Not one UTV system in this comparison lifts the blade without one (Kolpin's manual-lift Storm Chaser is ATV-only). Budget for it — see our winch size guide.

Denali: the one we recommend by default

Denali Pro Series curved snow plow blade

Denali wins on the thing most buyers care about first: the number on the page is the number you pay. Every kit ships complete — blade, Easy-Connect push tube, the vehicle-specific mount plate and hardware — with freight to the lower 48 baked in. The Standard blade is 11-gauge steel with four 7-gauge ribs and a replaceable Grade 50 wear bar; the Pro adds a curved, truck-style moldboard, a 3/16" wear bar and Denali's reinforcement system; the Poly puts a poly moldboard on the same steel frame. Pro and Poly kits include markers and the rubber flap at no charge, and carry a 3-year warranty.

The push tube is the same across all three blades, so you can start with a Standard and move to a Pro or Poly blade later without touching the mount. Options worth having: the plow-pulley fairlead (+$65 or +$70 for the wide version), a 2" or 4" push-tube lift for lifted machines (+$60 / +$70), and the Hydro-Turn hydraulic angle (+$779 with the dash switch, +$879 with the joystick) if you'd rather not get out of the seat. Denali also has the longest list of machine-specific mounts we carry — everything from Polaris and Can-Am to Kubota RTV, John Deere Gator, Bobcat, Hisun, Massimo and Segway. Start at the Denali plow finder.

Where it loses: no 60" UTV blade (66" is the narrowest), no ATV mid-mount catalog to speak of, and 45 of its machine-specific kits use a HitchDoc mount (+$40).

KFI: American-made steel, build it your way

KFI has built plow hardware in the USA since 1998, and its pitch is that the mount bolts to factory frame holes without drilling or adapter plates. On our site KFI systems are configurators: you pick the mount for your machine, then choose a push tube (the UTV Pro 2.0 at $308.99, with 30"+ of lift, three angle positions and six pitch adjustments) and a blade — Pro-S straight steel from 48" to 72", or Pro-Poly with a two-sided 3/16" Grade 50 wear bar, markers and flap included. That build-it-yourself pricing means you only pay for the parts you pick (a 60" Pro-S Ranger build lands around $1,002), and the line reaches up to the 80" Pro-V with dash-mounted actuators.

KFI also has the broadest add-on shelf: roller fairleads, skid feet, side shields, a curb guard, a track extension, and a $32.99 winch strap that KFI describes exactly right — "a $33 strap sacrifices itself instead of a $400 winch." Warranty is 2 years on blade and push tube. Browse the KFI plow hub.

Where it loses: the sticker is the mount only, so the real total takes a minute to see; power angling is the priciest option in this group ($1,188.99 for the ACT203 package); and the older pre-built 72" Pro-Poly listing is dearer than building the same system in the configurator.

Kolpin: fastest on and off

Kolpin's Conqueror is the system for the person who takes the plow off between storms. The Front-Connect hooks up without tools, angles to nine positions, lifts 30 inches, and Kolpin states the initial install at under 30 minutes. Blades run from 48" steel to an 84" double-wall poly that Kolpin says is 25% heavier than its steel — shoes and wear bar included. The Power Angle Kit is the value play in this comparison at $582.99 (56° of rotation, five bolts). Kolpin also sells the Switchblade "plow-in-a-box" — blade, push tube and mount together, everything but the winch — for $604.99 on UTVs.

Where it loses: it's one of the most expensive complete 72" steel systems on our site when you build it in the configurator, the blade and push frame ship separately so freight is figured on the full kit, and Kolpin doesn't publish a warranty on our listings — call and we'll get the current terms for you. Browse Kolpin plows.

Eagle: the heavy one

Eagle plows come from HitchDoc in Jackson, Minnesota — American steel since 1990. The mount is 1/4" plate, the push tube is a V design with five angle positions, and the 72" blade is 12-gauge with a reversible wear bar, skid shoes, trip springs, flap and markers in the box. That's why a UTV kit ships at 210 lb and why the 72" kits start at $1,215.95. If you plow gravel or a long commercial drive and you'd rather have mass than adjustability, this is the one. Power angling is the KYB Hydraulic Motion Pac at $1,099.99 (it includes its own push tube). Browse Eagle plows.

Where it loses: price, weight, steel only, and no 60" UTV blade.

What they all have in common (read this before you buy any of them)

The mount is the decision. Every one of these brands builds a machine-specific mount, and they don't interchange — the one exception is the HitchDoc mount that many Denali kits ship with. Pick the brand that has a mount for your exact model and year before you fall in love with a blade. The finders on each hub filter by Year → Make → Model; if your machine isn't listed, call us rather than guessing.

The winch is not optional. All four UTV systems raise and lower with your front winch. It works every lift cycle, all storm long, so size it for plow duty — our winch guide's rule of thumb is a rated line pull of at least two times your machine's loaded weight, which for a UTV running a plow means 3,500 lb and up. Add the plow-pulley fairlead: it roughly doubles rope life in plow duty and lifts the blade higher.

72" is the width most UTV owners end up with so the blade still clears the tire track when angled. Go 66" only on narrow machines or tight spots; go wider than 72" only with poly or a bigger machine.

FAQ

Do I need a winch to run a plow? A winch is the recommended lift — it raises and lowers the blade from your seat and doubles as recovery gear. Pair it with a plow pulley fairlead to lift higher and protect your cable. For hands-free angling, add the hydraulic turn kit.

Is a poly plow blade better than steel? Poly sheds snow better, won't rust or corrode from salt, and runs quieter. Steel blades are proven and tough.

What size plow do I need? Most UTV owners run a 72" blade so it clears the tire track when angled. Step down to 66" for narrow machines or tight areas.

Can I use a Denali blade with a KFI mount (or any other mix)? No. Blade, push tube and mount are designed as a system within each brand. The one cross-brand pairing we sell is the HitchDoc mount that ships with many Denali kits; beyond that, mixing brands is not something we sell or recommend.

Is shipping free? Yes — most of what we sell ships free to the lower 48 states. Orders under $150 have a flat $14.99 shipping fee. Alaska and Canada shipments incur additional freight charges, and international shipping is available — we quote it individually so you get the best rate.

Can I order by phone? Yes! Call 800-596-0785 (M-F 11AM-4PM CST) and you'll reach a real person who lives in the USA who can spec the plow, mount and winch with you. Email works too: info@utvpartsandaccessories.com.
