John Deere Gator Snow Plow Guide: Which Denali Kit Fits Your Gator (2026)

Posted by UTV Parts & Accessories on Sep 8th 2026

More of our plow customers run a John Deere Gator than any other machine — more than Polaris, more than Can-Am. That makes sense: a Gator already lives on the property, it has the low-end grunt and the weight to push snow, and it's a lot cheaper to put a blade on it than to buy a truck plow. The catch is that "Gator" covers a dozen different chassis built over thirty years, and the plow mount is chassis-specific. This guide tells you exactly which Denali kit fits which Gator, what's in the box, and how to spec it so it works the first storm.

Not sure which Gator you have? Skip the reading — use our Year → Make → Model plow finder or call 800-596-0785 and we'll confirm fitment before you order.

Why we put Denali on Gators

We have the Denali plow line, and it's what we'd put on our own Gator: a vehicle-specific mount plate that bolts to the frame, an Easy-Connect push tube you can hook and unhook in under a minute without tools, and a blade that's built like a truck plow (11-gauge steel, full-height ribs, replaceable Grade 50 wear bar). Every kit ships complete — blade, push tube, and the correct mount for your machine — with free shipping to the lower 48 included in the price. No freight surprise at checkout.

Pick your blade: Standard, Pro, or Poly

Every Gator kit above (except where noted) comes in three blade series. All three bolt to the same push tube and mount, so this is purely a "how do you plow" decision.

Denali Pro Series curved snow plow with push tube and markers

Standard Series (steel) — the base price. Flat 11-gauge steel moldboard, four full-height 7-gauge ribs, 65° attack angle so snow rolls forward instead of piling up, replaceable Grade 50 wear bar, height-and-angle-adjustable skid feet. Black. If you're clearing a driveway and a barn lot a few times a winter, this is the one.

Pro Series (steel) — the curved, DOT-style blade. Same 11-gauge steel, plus edge stiffeners and a stabilizer bar (Denali's Impact Resistant Reinforcement System) for when you find the frozen rut at speed. The taper throws snow farther, which matters on long drives where you're pushing yesterday's pile too. Upgraded rubber flap, plow markers included, 3-year warranty. Black, red, or yellow — yellow looks right at home on a Gator.

Poly Series — the lightweight one. Rigid poly moldboard on a steel-reinforced frame: snow doesn't stick, it can't rust, and the polyurethane wear bar won't scuff pavers or leave rust streaks on the garage floor. It's also the easiest on your winch. Markers and rubber flap included, 3-year warranty. Great pick for paved drives and for the smaller Gators.

66" or 72"? Both bolt to the same push tube and mount. At full angle a 72" blade covers your wheel tracks with margin and clears a two-car drive in fewer passes — it's the popular pick on the full-size 825/835/855. 66" makes sense on the mid-size 550/560/590 and anywhere you're threading between buildings.

Spec it right: the options that matter on a Gator

Every Denali kit lifts with your winch. If your Gator doesn't have one yet, we carry John Deere Gator winch mounts for every chassis above and the Viper winch kits we recommend — made in the same factory as Warn.

  • Plow pulley fairlead (+$65 standard / +$70 wide bolt pattern) — the best $65 you'll spend. It changes the cable's angle of attack so the blade lifts higher with less strain, and your cable lasts far longer. Pick the one that matches your winch's bolt pattern (3" × 4⅞" standard, 3" × 6" wide).
  • Hydraulic/electric turn (+$779) — angle the blade from the seat, full sweep in about 5 seconds, sealed-for-life Parker hydraulics. If you plow every storm, this is the upgrade that makes you forget you ever got out to swing the blade.
  • Plow markers (+$39.99) — included on Pro and Poly; add them on Standard if you plow at night or along a fence line.
  • Push-tube length — leave it at Standard unless your Gator has a lift kit (2" +$60, 4" +$70) or is on tracks (Extended, +$110). Get this one right; it sets the blade's cutting angle.

Round out the winter Gator

The plow is the big one, but the Gator owners who plow every week set up the whole machine:

FAQ

Does the kit include the mount for my Gator? Yes. Confirm your model and year in the table on the kit page and the correct vehicle-specific mount plate is included automatically, with hardware.

Do I need a winch to run a plow on a Gator? A winch is the recommended lift — it raises and lowers the blade from your seat and doubles as recovery gear. Pair it with a plow pulley fairlead to lift higher and protect your cable. For hands-free angling, add the hydraulic turn kit.

Can I take the plow off in the summer? That's the point of Easy-Connect. Unhook the push tube from the mount, release the winch cable, and the blade and push tube roll away. The mount plate stays on the Gator year-round.

Will it fit a Gator with a lift kit or tracks? Yes — choose the matching push-tube length at checkout (2" lift, 4" lift, or Extended for tracks).

What about shipping? Snow plows are heavy, and freight surprises are the #1 complaint we hear about buying them online. As a top distributor of Denali plows, the freight on your whole system is included in the price (Lower 48 States) — the price you see is the price you pay.

Big-ticket or not sure on fitment? The website works great, but sometimes it's nice to talk to a real person who lives in the USA — call us at 800-596-0785 and we'll spec it with you. Want the full rundown on blade types, widths and lift systems first? Read our 2026 UTV Snow Plow Buying Guide.
