- Synthetic rope vs. steel cable — synthetic is lighter and safer to handle; steel shrugs off abrasion. Several Viper kits let you choose either.
- Sealing — a fully sealed motor and gearbox is what keeps a winch alive through mud, snow and pressure washing.
- Automatic brake — strongly recommended if the winch will run a snow plow lift.

Will a winch fit my machine?
The mount plate is the machine-specific part: choose your winch, then add the plate built for your make and model from Winch Mounts, and check the plate’s listing for the winch it takes. What size winch do I need?
Rated line pull should be at least two times your machine’s loaded weight — passengers, fuel and cargo included. A 2,000-lb side-by-side with a passenger and gear wants a 3,500–4,500 lb winch minimum; a full-size Ranger, Defender or Mule Pro pushing a snow plow is happiest with 4,500–5,000 lbs. Can I use my winch to lift a snow plow?
Yes — every UTV plow system we sell raises and lowers the blade with the front winch. Choose a winch with an automatic brake for plow lifts, and add a plow-pulley fairlead: it roughly doubles rope life in plow duty.
Is shipping free?
Yes — most of what we sell ships free to the lower 48 states. Orders under $150 have a flat $14.99 shipping fee. Alaska and Canada shipments incur additional freight charges, and international shipping is available — we quote it individually so you get the best rate. Questions?
